I thought I would make a short list of software that I have used for the FunCube Dongle on Linux. Here we go:
Using QTHID for frequency control I have also had good luck with:
I recently purchased a FunCube Dongle, so far I like it a lot. There are, however, a couple of things that could be improved upon. The first complaint I have is the lack of front end filtering. However there’s not much that can be done because of wide receive range. The second complaint I have is the lack of software for Linux. I think my favorite software so far is GXRX. GQRX is pretty temperamental getting to run on Ubuntu 12.04. GQRX seems to be hard coded to use Boost1.42.0.
You must install:
Here’s the command:
sudo apt-get install libboost-system1.42.0 libboost-date-time1.42.0 libboost-program-options1.42.0 libboost-filesystem1.42.0 libboost-thread1.42.0
The other day I had a weird problem with GQRX. The audio was very choppy and I was getting “aU” in the terminal window. Apparently this is caused by overflow on the USB port. This gave me some light on the problem.
